Monday 3rd March was World Tennis Day and to celebrate a number of matches took place around the world; Andy Murray played Novak Djokovic in New York and in London an old rivalry was ignited as Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras took to the court. The players’ may be older now but the tennis was world class with Agassi winning the game with some trademark returns fast and low over the net. Poole Sunset
I was delighted to see that a photograph I took of the sun setting over Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island has been used by the Alumni team at Herbert Smith Freehills as a banner for their Alumni Update email. I had entered the photograph in a Herbert Smith Photo Competition and it was displayed as part of an exhibition at the firm’s Grand Reunion Party in 2011. Eye4change: Landmarks
Earlier this year I was involved with an exhibition showcasing the works of local people in Greenwich. This was the result of a series of urban photowalks by Eye4change, a charitable organisation working with local people of all backgrounds and abilities. Participants used a digital camera as a tool for exploration, storytelling and a means to connect, express and share a sense of belonging within their local community with a number of voluntary sector organisations taking part including; Greenwich Mind, Age UK, Listening Ears, Ajoda Community Alliance, CRI Aspire, the Indian Cultural Society and members of the Nepalese Gurkha Community. Participants chose their favourite photograph and this was displayed in the Stephen Lawrence Gallery at the University of Greenwich.
Eye4change have created an online gallery for the Landmarks project which you can access here. For more information about Eye4change visit their website below.
Teeny Tots Dance and Movement
A good friend of mine has set up her own dance movement class for young children. The classes offer creative dance and movement play sessions for toddlers and preschool children in Greenwich. I was asked if I could come down and take some pictures for the new website. It was a lot of fun and the children had a great time which really came across in the photos.
